Zero Gravity Research

Zero Gravity Research in “real world conditions,” is somewhat new and is only an option for experiments and research to be done on the orbital ISS.  The zero weightlessness environment of space offers a tremendous opportunities to learn about not only the effects of zero gravity on the human body, but how zero gravity could affect the growth and development of plants.  Gravity which is theoretically missing in zero gravity conditions causes the roots of plants to grow downward in soil and forces the plant stem to grow upwards towards the sun’s light.  Zero gravity effects can be simulated on earth in a vacuum chamber; however, the simulation of gravity in a weightlessness environment requires very specific configurations and hardware performances.
